Fairborn Begins First of ‘Citizen Information Meetings’

On Thursday, March 18, from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. the first Citizens Information Meeting will take place at the Fairborn Senior Citizens Center, 325 N. Third Street.  According to City of Fairborn Mayor Joan Dautel, this will be the start of quarterly informational meetings.

“During the campaign I promised that there would be transparency and improved communication with the public,” stated Dautel.  “In an effort to follow-through on this, all council members agreed that this type of meeting would be a good way to inform the public of various topics and allow for questions in a relaxed atmosphere.”

This first meeting will cover two topics: Calamityville and Community Safety.  Councilman Dan Kirkpatrick and Bud McCormick of Wright State University will present a PowerPoint along with information about Calamityville.  Police Chief Terry Barlow will present an overview of the Fairborn Police Department and address trends and tips for preventing crime.  Both topics will have a question and answer period.

The event is free and open to the public.  Blank cards will be passed out at the meeting for citizens to suggest future topics.
