October is the time for dress up in downtown Fairborn.  Come out and celebrate the Halloween season with the annual Spooktacular Parade on Friday, October 30.  Participants who wish to be a part of the costume contest need to arrive at the Fairborn YMCA, 300 South Central Avenue, at 6:15 p.m. for judging.  Prizes are awarded in various age groups from newborn through adulthood.  Special competitions include best family costumes, overall cutest costume, overall scariest costume, most original costume, and even a best animal costume for pets.

The parade will then begin at 7:30 p.m. leaving the YMCA and travelling north on Central Avenue then east on Main Street ending in front of Foy’s Variety Store.

The Mayor’s Beautification Committee will award the top three homes for best Halloween decoration along with certificates.

Trick-or-Treat will be held on Saturday, October 31, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
