Believe me when I tell you that my morning cup of coffee is ?my precious?. I have two Starbucks locations to choose from on my way to work. I longed for the new location so I could get that afternoon fix without having to drive to Beavercreek.
So I was bummed out when the Dayton Daily News reported that Starbucks had abandoned their plans for a store across from my Alma matter, Fairborn High School.
City residents will have to continue to venture to Beavercreek for a cup of Columbia Narino Supremo.
Starbucks, the Seattle-based coffee giant, has scrapped plans to build a drive-through store on Dayton Yellow-Springs Road near Interstate 675.
Fairborn residents venture to Beavercreek!? I think not! I recently stopped for coffee at Signatures Coffee in bustling Downtown Fairborn after Rotary?Man was I impressed! Located near Giovanni?s and Roush’s Restaurant at 313 W Main St, the corner location is super bright, has great coffee, comfortable seating, a huge community gathering table and high speed wireless internet access! Add to that weekly entertainment by nationally known and local musicians, regular book discussions and art by local photographers and painters.
Signatures Coffee is what a coffee shop should be, part of the community, locally owned and operated and supporting the local arts?
I wrote this post and took these photos and posted them to my website while enjoying a great cup o coffee and saw a steady steam of customers, including downtown business owners, Fairborn City Staffers and Uniformed men and women from the base.
Maybe, they?ll let me bring my GigMaster 5000 down for a Karaoke Night!?
